In July 2023 Vienne Chan and Jan Lemitz, two artists from Germany, as well as Kinga Milankovics from Hekate Conscious Ageing Foundation worked together with Janoshida citizens to co-create a visual vision for Janoshida.
With the support of Ildikó Béresné Szénási, and all staff members of the St Norbert Elderly Club we had the chance to spend more than a week together to carry out this social dialogue about what kind of future we want to see in a small, rural, ageing European village.
People of nearly all ages (9-93) participated in the visioning process and voices of all generations were visualized. As a result, the future Janoshida will have to have a dino-park , sporting facilities, a cinema, a restaurant, and an elderly care home among other features.
This project has been a significant next step of the JANOSHIDA2030 strategic cooperation. It has been a pleasure to work with Vienne and Jan. We do hope to continue working with them to use art and artistic methods to generate social change as well as to build a more sustainable and regenerative future, and more resilient communities.
